SD Card RAW File System and Shows 0 Bytes

My SD card stopped working. The computer said that this memory card needed to be formatted. However, I had many family photos on it. When I right clicked it to see the properties, the file system was RAW and the used and free space showed 0 bytes. I need to get back my photos. Please help me fix this!

Actually, your SD card problem is quite common. No matter what caused your RAW problem, a media recovery program is needed in your case.

As a SD card user, you may not know that RAW file system is a sort of original system which cannot be used under Windows or Mac system while the NTFS or FAT 32 can. So, most people, who meet the similar problems, are busy in looking for a way to convert the RAW into NTFS or FAT 32. However, it is quite simple. You only need to format it. But for the photos inside, you are supposed to use a recovery program to regain them at first.

That’s why a recovery program is needed.

1. Do not save anything on this SD card to avoid the data overwriting which can decrease the chances of completely data recovery.

2. Select a trustworthy data recovery program and download it on your computer.

Searching on the internet, you can easily find plenty of recovery programs, which also increase the difficulty of choosing a right one. As to me, I would advice you to apply iCare Data Recovery Free, which I have ever used. Note: As you apply iCare Data Recovery Free, you should never forget to click “Recover” after selecting your SD card.

You also could only hook the photos that you want to regain instead of all, for recovering all can take much more time.

3. Format your SD card.

As I have mentioned, you have to format it to save your SD card for future use.

I had the same problem and I'm frightened to lose my personal data from my SD card. Thank god, I could be able to find the solution through the above article.
